Shooting the Moon...

I guess I could have waited until tomorrow to post this one... to get my one a day in... But........ I thought I would anyway. This is just on my 200mm lens, and a quickie shot from our front yard. The moon was sooo awesome last night that we saw hundreds of wild horses running through the wash and under the bridge on the way home last night... tonight I did not see any horses (of course because I had my camera!!!!) but we did get a cool moon!

I wanted to get a shot that I love so I could paint. I have not yet found the perfect shot... maybe just a pair of toe shoes... not sure yet. But here is a quick effort at my first painting. Just thought I would share! Here is a large one and a close up to see the brush strokes.

Meeting Bruce Dorn

I went to a class tonight put on by our local camera shop featuring Master of Light Bruce Dorn. Aside from sweeping a GINORMOUS wolf spider off the poor unsuspecting bloke's back in front of me (while squealing in terror) and thenstomping on it in the middle of a presentation.... (SORRY BRUCE!!!!) It was a pretty interesting class, and even tho I felt out of place the first fifteen minutes or so it picked up. My favorite portion was of course shooting. We were told that if we brought our cameras we were more than welcome to pop off a few shots of this lovely model, Tricia. She humored us and was in great spirits. Although I am not pushy enough to rush in front of everyone to get THAT shot... I was grateful I brought my 70-200 L w/ IS because I got jostled around and even almost fell into a cactus.

Its Senior Season!

So I like to watch movies when I work and well.... I had season 1-4 and everytime I tried to get 5-10 the stores were out. Finally Target had the whole series in a box with a nice full color book. I just thought I would share these as my pic of the day!
